Flexible Funding Program Print E-mail

The Flexible Funding Program is a key component of the Community Development and Recovery Package jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments, through Category C of the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA). Funding is provided over a two year period which will conclude in June 2013.

The Flexible Funding Program provides grants to 73 disaster-declared local governments across Queensland. These funds will be used for community-led projects that help local communities recover from the impacts of the recent flood and cyclone disasters and build their preparedness to respond to, manage and recover from future natural disasters.

The projects funded under the Flexible Funding Program will facilitate the capacity of communities to manage their own recovery and reconstruction effort based on what is important to them.

The department is managing the distribution of grants to 73 local governments across Queensland on behalf of the Department of Communities.
