Priority infrastructure plans (PIPs) are an important part of planning schemes. Planning schemes determine how land can be used and where infrastructure can be built in your local area. PIPs assist in planning infrastructure in a coordinated, efficient and orderly way that encourages urban growth in areas where adequate infrastructure exists or can be provided efficiently. PIPs, prepared by local governments, aim to ensure essential infrastructure is planned and delivered anticipating growth and supporting the Queensland Government's vision for the future.
