Statewide planning

The department is driving economic growth in Queensland by implementing the Housing Affordability Strategy and other strategies that support sustainable development.

Regional planning

Planning is being synchronised across Queensland - the department supports a coordinated approach to regional planning and development to meet future priorities, needs and community expectations.

Local area planning

Planning in Queensland’s major urban areas is supported through the Board for Urban Places, local government planning schemes, master planned areas, priority infrastructure plans, and transit-oriented developments.
