Regional planning committees

The Deputy Premier has established a Regional Planning Committee (RPC) for the Central Queensland and Darling Downs regions to advise on the content of each of these regional plans. Both of the regional planning committees include the mayors from each local government within the regions as well as elected state and community representatives.

Mayors and members of Parliament will champion the views of their local community during the process, while stakeholder representatives will be the voices for their sector.

Each committee is expected to meet four times a year and will exist for the duration of the time it takes to prepare and launch the final regional plans.

The inaugural meeting for each committee was held in Dalby (Darling Downs) and Emerald (Central Queensland) during the week commencing 23 July 2012. The inaugural meeting for the Cape York RPC was held in Cooktown on 4 September.
