As well as classifying land into one of three land categories, the regional plan also nominates 15 general areas which may accommodate growth, subject to a range of factors. These identified growth areas are located outside but generally close to the Urban Footprint and could play a role in meeting much longer term needs of the region, generally beyond the life of the current plan.
This Identified Growth Areas fact sheet ( 371 KB) provides further information on identified growth areas and their locations.
