ImplementationA five-year implementation strategy for the plan will be developed by the Regional Coordination Committee with the involvement of all three levels of government, non government, the private sector and the community. The Maranoa-Balonne Regional Plan is a statutory plan that must be followed by state agencies and local governments in their planning and when assessing development. The plan doesn not incorporate an 'urban footprint' and associated regulatory provisions for land use. Council planning schemes remain the main instruments used to regulate urban development. The Maranoa-Balonne regional plan was developed under the Integrated Planning Act 1997 and remains current under the Sustainable Planning Act 2009. Download the planComplete document
