The first South East Queensland (SEQ) Growth Management Program Annual Report ( The SEQ Growth Management Program monitors and reports annually on residential and industrial land supply and development in relation to the policies and targets of the South East Queensland Regional Plan 2009 - 2031 (SEQ Regional Plan). The report provides information state and local governments can use to ensure there is enough dwelling and land supply for SEQ. Currently SEQ as a whole has enough dwelling supply to strike a balance between housing demand and land supply. The report estimates how many years of dwelling supply are currently available compared to the number of years of supply required to reduce pressure on prices and increase housing affordability. The state and local governments can use a number of tools to deliver adequate dwelling supply. These tools include those available under the Sustainable Planning Act 2009, such as planning scheme amendments and reviews, master planned area declarations and the Integrated Development Assessment System. The report identifies significant planning scheme and equivalent changes already underway in number of local government areas to increase dwelling supply. The report also provides information on industrial land supply for the whole of SEQ and each local government area. The report provides details of the circumstances of individual local government areas, including where further planning actions will or may be required to meet the particular dwelling targets of the SEQ Regional Plan. |
